Stephen’s Story

            Nicole followed Stephen to go to the police station but she had to wait for him outside the room.

R – Stephen, are you close with Kelly?

S – Quite.

R – Where are you at that night?

S – I was at home.

R – Alone?

S – Yes, my parents went out town.

R – What about afternoon? I heard you caused Kelly admitted.

S – It was my fault but I never saw her again after that.

R – Someone told us that you were outside Kelly’s room with Nicole.

S – Yes, I was.

R – What did you talk about?

S – Nicole blamed me. I apologized. That was all.

R – Did you use the word “revenge”?

S – No, definitely not! I think you heard the wrong thing.

            Stephen was very careful with the answer he gave. After few minutes, they came out. Nicole took Stephen away.

N – Anything happen?

S – I was so scared but they got nothing from me. My instinct told me that the police won’t give up on us easily. They might be following us.

N – Don’t worry. I’m going to find out the truth.

S – I can help.

N – Thanks.

S – Where should we begin? We don’t have a clue.

N – I have. We need to follow that person.

S – Who?

N – I’m suspecting somebody.

Funeral

            It was a dark atmosphere at Mrs. Ally house. She had organized the funeral for Kelly. Most of the Kelly’s classmates went there. Nicole helped Mrs. Ally as much as possible. David came. He walked into the house. He stood in front of Kelly’s photo. Then, he left. Nicole saw David and decided to stop David. However, Stephen pulled Nicole away and went into an empty room. Stephen locked the door.

S – Somebody saw us!

N – I know. Michelle saw us. Don’t worry, she doesn’t know much.

S – I’m afraid that the police will come for me.

N – Don’t worry. The secret is safe. No one knows.

S – Are you sure?

N – Come on. It’s normal if police need your help to investigate this case. You’re Kelly’s classmate.

S – I….You know what I did before.

N – Relax! Only both of us know what happened before. I promised that I won’t say it out and I’m going to make the promise works.

S – Thanks.

N – You’re welcome. Just go out and pretend nothing happens.

            Both of them came out from the room. Stephen went away. Nicole saw Mrs. Ally sitting on a chair in her room. She was crying. Nicole knocked the door and entered the room. Mrs. Ally was looking at Kelly’s picture.

N – Mrs. Ally, are you alright?

A – I’m fine. I miss her so much.

N – Me too.

A – She looked so beautiful in this picture.

N – Yeah, she looked gorgeous with the necklace. You bought it?

A – No. It was someone else.

N – Who?

A – I don’t know.

N – Mrs. Ally, if Kelly knows that you are crying now. She will be upset too.

A – I know. I’m fine. Let’s go down.

            

            They went down. 5 minutes later, Insp. Ron arrived with his officers. Stephen was trembling.

R – Stephen, we need your help for Kelly’s case. Please come with us.
