Truth
Stephen, Nicole and Insp. Ron rushed to the roof top of the hospital. Nicole was right. David was standing there.
R- David, what are you doing here?
D – Promise. I promised her.
N – Who?
D – The people I loved. I am Kelly’s boyfriend. We’ve been together for a year but we feel like being together for our whole life. We have so many things in common. We are hurt by the people surrounding us.
S – What are you talking about?
D – Kelly knew the truth. Mrs. Ally is her mother. She tried to ask Mrs. Ally but she refused to tell Kelly. She didn’t understand why Mrs. Ally was afraid of letting Kelly know. Nicole! She found out that you hate her. One day during recess, she saw you putting something into her beg. She was shocked when she opened it. You put small bugs into her bag. I wanted to scold you but she asked me not to do so! It was because even though you hate her, you are still the one who helped her a lot. She told me that you are her best friend! Stephen, you gave her a letter. She didn’t know what to do. She tried so hard to tell you without hurting your feeling. However, both of you planned to revenge against her.
N – She knew this too?
D – She was awake at that time. She pretended to sleep.
R – How about Michelle?
D – She saw me and thought I was going to kill her. She ran like mad and hit by a truck. It was an accident.
N – What was your plan?
D – On the result day, we planned to meet at the park. When she was walking towards me, Stephen showed up. Then he made her fainted. She had so many visitors, so I came at night. I walked to her room. She saw me and walked out of the room quietly. We decided to fulfill our promise.
R – What promise?
D – Die together.
D – It is raining.
K – I like rain.
D – Are you sure about this? Will you regret?
K – I lost my will to live. You told me.
D – What will happen to us when we die?
K – I don’t know but I’m sure we don’t have to suffer anymore. Come out and let the rain washes away the pain.
D – What about Mrs. Ally? She cared about you.
K – She still doesn’t want to tell me. I thought you understand me. Are you scared? You promised me.
D – I’m not scared.
K – Then we better finish this.
They walked to the boundary. They were wet and cold. They stood on the edge.
K – Any last word? We jumped after telling each other.
D – I miss my mother. How about you?
K – I’m pregnant.
D- What?!
David backed off but Kelly jumped. Luckily David managed to grab Kelly’s hand.
D – Why don’t you tell me?
K – I know that you won’t jump if you know.
D – Please Kelly. Don’t give up. I try to pull you up.
K – David, I love you.
Kelly’s hand was too wet and David couldn’t save her. He saw Kelly fell down from the building. He ran away from the scene quickly. He ran through a back door and ran back home. He locked his door and sat down on the floor lying on the wall. He cried.
D – I owe Kelly a promise.
R – Please. David, come back here.
Before Insp. Ron could do anything, David jumped off from the building like her girlfriend, Kelly.
One month later, Stephen and Nicole were standing in front of Kelly’s grave.
S – When did she become such pathetic?
N – I heard that David had betrayed her before.
S – If originally she wanted to punish him, why in a sudden she lied to him?
N – I think she tried to hate him but the more hatred, the more love she had. She let fate to decide David’s life.
S – Did she ever love David?
N – She is the only one who had the answer.
One year ago, David was doing his homework at his house. Kelly was there with him. David had to go upstairs to take his reference book. Kelly was bored and took his mobile phone. She clicked into his message inbox and saw something. There were all messages from another girl. The girl’s name was Landy. She decided to look into the content. Then, she put it back. After David finished the work, they went to a hill. David and Kelly were lying on the grass, looking at the blue sky.
D – I love the sky.
K – There are too many clouds. We can’t see the sky clearly.
D – I thought you love the clouds.
K – There is only a tiny line between love and hate.
D – You’re strange today.
K – You think so?
D – By the way, do you love me?
K – Yes.
Insp. Ron went to the hospital. He came there to visit his son who was in a coma. He looked at his son and ran out from the room. He yelled.
R – Doctor!
